Result...Salford City 2 Clitheroe
3 (Evo-Stik League) Mon 30/08/10
Jonathan Forbes and Jack Higgins
replaced Marc Taylor and Jack
Duggan in defence, Joe Roberts
replaced Jason Jones in midfield
and Louis Mayers replaced Tom
Williams up front.
Clitheroe scored a last minute
winner to take all 3 points after
seeing a 2 goal advantage pulled
back. The Blues took the lead in
the 18th minute when Ash
Parillon curled in a low
shot from the edge of the penalty
box with the outside of his boot.
The second goal came after 59
minutes when a long free kick
from keeper Ben Proctor sailed
over everyone for Alex
Brees to run onto and
slot past the Salford keeper. The
home side then had a good spell
on top and pulled a goal back in
the 69th minute before scoring
the equaliser in the 86th minute.
Both teams then had chances in
the closing minutes to steal the
points and it was Clitheroe who
scored the winner in the 90th
minute when a superb pass from
Mark Jackson found Ollie
Devenney's run into the
box and he threaded the ball past
the keeper into the empty net
from 15 yards.
