 NEWS

New Commercial Manager for Clitheroe FC.
The club are pleased to announce that they appointed Alan Danson as Commercial Manager of Clitheroe Football Club. Alan has been a supporter of the club since moving back to the north west eight years ago and became a member of the supporters club and a season ticket holder some 5 years ago. His working life has been in supply chain logistics, project management, commercial management, sales and marketing management for major blue chip companies in the pharmaceutical industry.

The position is voluntary.
We have agreed that Alan will prioritise the following:-
1) Develop the commercial opportunities by maximising revenue income from advertising, hospitality and sponsorship.

2) Involve club personnel, the supporters club and supporters to obtain leads to potential advertisers to progress commercial opportunities and fulfil obligations to existing sponsors to ensure ongoing support.

He will also build relationships with the local press to promote the club and the sponsors.

Appeal from Vice Chairman Anne Barker.
Even before Keith became ill the few of us who go down to the ground during the week to prepare the ground, keep up with maintenance, run the show on match days and clear up afterwards were struggling. As people have left or simply got older no one has come forward to help so we've just spread ourselves more and more thinly but now we have no options left and we are not physically capable of doing anymore - we would have to be able to cut ourselves in half! All of us would love to just watch the game, home or away, but clearly we can't.
Billy and I will make sure that the ground is ok for the Skem game but we both work and Billy has 2 dependant parents so he can't take it on a permanent basis. Please think about it and contact me if you can offer any help at all, even it only to put the divets back on a Sunday morning or form a team to help mowing the grass, or even to brew up on match days. If you're not able to offer any time yourself please don't do the usual trick and put forward other people's names and don't start coming up with postings on how we could do more.
If you have a good idea either tell me in person or carry it through yourself and come to me with a result. I don't need 'why don't you?s'. I can't fit anymore on my plate but am proud to continue with what I've taken on so far.  Anne Barker
