David Lynch has vowed 100% commitment to Clitheroe FC for the 2014/15 season after signing for the club yesterday.

When asked what Clitheroe could expect from David Lynch, the central midfielder replied “100% commitment and energy levels up and down the pitch every single game.”

“I’m not a big time Charlie or anything like that; I’ve got nothing about me to be like that. I just love playing football I’ll always give my best in every game and hopefully weigh in with a few goals even though I didn’t last season which was a bit disappointing.”

Lynch also spoke about how big Simon Garner was in getting the deal done. ““He was massive, he contacted me as soon as the season finished and at any level of football being wanted is always a nice thing.”

“He had the decency to come and meet up with me and say what his plans were, he wanted me to play a main role and at any level of football it’s nice to hear that.”

“He wants to push at the right end of the table and I just thought it’s a good challenge for me to try and push at the right end of a table to get play-offs, promotion and things like that.”

“He said he wants to do well and after getting relegated last season (with Workington AFC) I want to get that winning feeling back again and get into a team.”

“If you get a group of local lads that are all close knit and wanting to do well for each other then obviously I think it will be enjoyable and I think we’ve got a good chance next year if things go to plan”

It wasn’t just the manager who influenced David’s move though after he spoke about his friendship with Clitheroe player, Danny Wilkins.

“One of my good mates Danny Wilkins plays here as well, I’ve played with him growing up and I know how good of a player he is. I’ve spoken to him about the club and he said that he thinks there’ll be a good squad together next season. That was another thing that swayed my decision as well.”

“With it being local that was another main thing, with work commitments and knowing about the club and obviously my dad and a lot of my family played for the club.”
