Clitheroe Football Club is delighted to announce Sean McConville as its new manager. The 35-year-old has had 16 years in the professional game, including 12 seasons at Accrington Stanley, where he made a club record 445 appearances and earned legendary status. He is already a UEFA B qualified coach and is currently studying for his UEFA A licence with the support of the PFA.

With Jimmy Bell's departure, the club’s board was keen to provide stability and continuity for the young team while bringing fresh ideas, energy, and new ways of working to the squad.

As the club’s current coach, Sean fit the bill perfectly and was delighted to accept the offer. He is hungry to forge a new career in football management. He sees the Clitheroe role as a perfect opportunity to get a foothold on the managerial ladder while simultaneously growing CFC and helping deliver its own growth ambitions.

He is currently looking to appoint an assistant and will take charge of training tonight before leading the club for the first time on Saturday against Newcastle Town. He has already identified a number of key players to bolster the current squad.
