Jimmy Bell makes his first signing as Clitheroe FC manager and it's a big one, former Accrington Stanley legend & midfield ace Sean McConville signs in as Player / Coach.

McConville brings a wealth of Football League experience having played close to 400 professional games of football for Accrington Stanley in League One & League Two over two spells for the Lancashire club.

McConville played 41 games in his last season at League One level in 2023 before Accrington's relegation to League Two. Sean has scored over 90 goals in his career, from a wide left midfield role to a central midfield role in recent seasons.

Sean is a fantastic character on & off the field and will be looking to assist Jimmy Bell & the team through his on field performances, but also from a coaching role as he looks to further his career in this area.
